TRESOR WOMEN WARRIORS LAUNCHING - KWINELLA

1

A historic landmark was laid on February 29th, 2020 when the Founder and President of Tresor Women Warriors (TWW) - Aji Kumba Daffeh-Kah, launched its headquarters at Kiang Kwinella - a Village in the Lower River Regions of The Gambia. TWW is an organization with a unique mission to uplift women to "gain financial independence and self-confidence" through their farming, trading, entrepreneurship and education programs.

Before the launching event, TWW had uplifted seven hundred women to actively engage in their journey to financial freedom and these women in turn had the pleasure of uplifting five hundred women at Kwinella to join the movement. The event was graced with a large audience of women, community and religious leaders, political party leaders, educationists, patriotic citizens and top officials of the government and private sectors.

The air was filled with motivational speeches, uplifting of new groups of women, an award and recognition ceremony, cultural dances, celebration and entertainment.  Among the highlights for the COIF team was the expression of unity, strength, love, determination, harmony and oneness of the women warriors. They celebrated each other for their hard work, and shared some powerful testimonials of how they were uplifted from poverty to financial freedom through TWW. "We see Aji Kumba Daffeh-Kah, as a blessing and savior in our lives" they chimed. Thus, their motto: "Our strength is in our bravery and unity".

As a long-standing supporter of TWW, Coaches of Influence Foundation (COIF) had the honor of being invited to participate in the event. The current youth leaders arrived at the venue the day before to help with setup and seating logistics. Then the morning arrived – the day of the event and the COIF team of approximately 45 youths were in position to serve as greeters, hostesses and ushers with Dr. Margaret Ellis serving as the emcee. It was so heart-warming to witness the signing of a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) between TWW and COIF to partner in youth & women development and capacity building initiatives in the near future.

For the COIF team, we left the event with so much enthusiasm and motivation. It was not surprising that the COIF mentoring session the next day was centered on the great leadership and patriotism lessons that the youth learned from event. They didn't fail to mention the intense desire, passion, love and patriotism that Aji Kumba Daffeh-Kah expressed in her journey of giving back to her own people, and generations before and after her.COIF is thrilled about the opportunity to fully contribute to the success of the event and the partnership to join TWW in the march to transform lives.
